Amarrai Cabell Shows He’s Still the Best in the World With New Music Video for“fleur du mal”

Amarrai Cabell is back in his element. The Midwest artist has released a new music video for fleur du mal, and once again, he’s leaning completely into the unapologetic, explosive energy that has become synonymous with his name.

The video carries an aggressive, feminist edge while maintaining the dark, alternative aesthetic that has defined much of Cabell’s recent work. It feels chaotic, confident, and intentionally provocative exactly the kind of artistic swing fans have come to expect from him at this point in his career.

But “fleur du mal” isn’t exactly a new song. An OG version of the track previously surfaced during Happily Miserable Radio, a series uploaded to BHD Factory’s YouTube channel. The earlier version gives fans a glimpse into how the record evolved before arriving at its current form.

Cabell has also continued making moves behind the scenes. After deciding to step away from his iHeartRadio deal, the artist has remained independent while navigating his next stage in the music business.

According to sources close to the situation, Cabell is currently in contract negotiations with four major distributors. While the details of those discussions remain private, his continued interest from executives and A&Rs illustrates that his name still carries significant weight within the industry. For Cabell, however, the attention isn’t necessarily new.

He has spent years building a reputation that extends beyond streaming numbers and social media. His ability to move between alternative music, hip-hop, electronic influences, and experimental songwriting has made him difficult to categorize and perhaps even harder for the industry to ignore.

Right now, Cabell feels less like an artist waiting to be discovered and more like a Midwest trophy. Everybody wants to be the person who can say they got him.

And honestly, we already know who the best artist in the Midwest was. But we’ll let you be the judge.
